These projects represent a very few of the custom designs we have completed over the years.  They are shown to give a glimpse of what we can accomplish for our clients as designers and makers.

These two solid cherry armoires were the solution to a lack of closet space.  The interior of the armoires included customized hangers, shelves and drawers to fit the needs of our client.  
Entertainment Center by Custom Furniture by Ruppel Design
Entertainment Center
 
 This cherry and curly maple entertainment center was designed for a 60" plasma television and numerous home theater and audio components.  The bi fold doors quickly fold away and slide out of view.  Casework this large presents some difficult challenges in both design and construction.  
Walnut Apex Arm Chair by Ruppel Design
Hinton Tables
 
 While it looks like one table, there are actually four tables that slide together to form one.  Elegant hand carved legs and contrasting maple inlay were used to match the clients decor.

Sandine Armoire
 
 This solid cherry armoire was built in the traditional Shaker style.  Decoration was kept at a minimum, while function and quality were highlighted.

   This Walnut and Oak desk was designed as a very powerful feeling computer desk.  The design includes two full sized file drawers, a keyboard tray, and cord channels to hide those nasty desktop computer cables.

01.2008   Ruppel Design is proud to announce the launch of designerprojectplans.com!  The only source for unique artisan designed woodworking plans, furniture plans, and solid hardwood furniture kits.  Designed and build by nationally renowned artists Ross and Terry Ruppel.  Our designs rely on the natural beauty of hand selected hardwoods to decorate the clean lines of our forms.

 Generations of Craftsmanship
     The Ruppel Design Group, founded in 1988, consists of the father/son team of Terry and Ross Ruppel.

    To the Ruppels, designing and building is a family tradition. Their work focuses on the beauty of select native hardwoods and traditional joinery and finishing techniques. The patina and character of each wood are highlighted whenever possible, and each piece is finished by hand-rubbing with a unique oil mixture developed over time.

    Their pieces are well designed without sacrificing any functionality. To the Ruppels, a perfectly designed piece means the blending of wood colors, patterns, surfaces, forms, repetition, and rhythms into an interesting and thought-provoking piece.
