Incurvo Side Table : handmade Furniture by Ruppel Design
Incurvo Table

The gentle curves and rhythmic lines of this cherry and walnut table are  accented by inlay details.  Bent lamination is used to create these soft  undulating lines, while adding great strength to this table's delicate appearance.
Apex Chair by Ruppel Design
Apex Side Chair

This cherry and curly maple chair is designed using traditional chairmaking techniques.  The Apex chair design is driven by the striking spread of gently curved back-slats which hit you in "just the right place."
Walnut Apex Arm Chair by Ruppel Design
Apex Arm Chair

This walnut version of the Apex chair is built for the head of the table. The  24" wide frame and extra back support truly embody the concept of a captain's chair, while maintaining the grace and delicacy of a Ruppel designed chair.

Generations of Craftsmanship

The Ruppel Design Group, founded in 1988, consists of the father/son team of Terry and Ross Ruppel.

To the Ruppels, designing and building is a family tradition. Their work focuses on the beauty of select native hardwoods and traditional joinery and finishing techniques. The patina and character of each wood are highlighted whenever possible, and each piece is finished by hand-rubbing with a unique oil mixture developed over time.

Their pieces are well designed without sacrificing any functionality. To the Ruppels, a pefectly designed piece means the blending of wood colors, patterns, surfaces, forms, repetition, and rhythms into an interesting and thought-provoking piece.
